Ajahn Candasiri - May You Be Well
DOWNLOAD LINK : www.amaravati.org/audio/may-you-be-well/
Ajahn Candasiri is one of the Theravāda Buddhist monastics who co-founded Chithurst Buddhist Monastery in West Sussex, England, a branch monastery of the Ajahn Chah lineage. She is currently ordained as a ten-precept sīladhārā, the highest level that is allowed for women in the Thai Forest Tradition. She is one of the senior monastics in western Theravāda Buddhism and trained alongside women who later became fully ordained bhikkhunis and abbesses of monasteries.
Born in 1947, Ajahn Candasiri was raised as a Christian in Edinburgh, Scotland. She worked as an occupational therapist in the United Kingdom after graduation from university. She encountered the Buddha's teachings in 1977 through Ajahn Sumedho, after exploring several meditation traditions. She became a renunciant in 1979, a white-robed, eight-precept anagārikā, at Chithurst Buddhist Monastery.
Ajahn Candasiri was one of four anagārikā women who carved out an existence in the early days of Chithurst Buddhist Monastery, along with a group of monks. In 1979, the monastery was little more than an abandoned, dilapidated house. After the group turned it into a functional residence, the nuns moved to a small house nearby and fixed it up. They called it Āloka Cottage and eventually founded the sīladhārā ordination community there. In 1983, Candasiri took sīladhārā ordination (brown robes and ten precepts). It consisted of a unique set of 137 rules and a new version of the Patimokkha recitation created by Ajahn Sumedho so that the women monastics could be trained in Ajahn Chah's lineage. Ajahn Candasiri was one of the pioneer sīladhārā monastics who were trained by bhikkhus (fully ordained monks), in parts of the Suttavibhanga and a version of the Vinaya Patimokkha. Some of the sīladhārā sisters became skilled Sangha members, capable of keeping the patimokkha, living in harmony and maintaining their community with very few resources.
Ajahn Candasiri and the other sīladhārās remained at the Chithurst monastery despite the sīladhārās being subordinated to monastic men. Though the sīladhārā community grew over the years, some began leaving to seek full Vinaya training. Ajahn Candasiri had stayed in the sīladhārā community which shrank to three nuns at one point. She is one of the sīladhārās who have been allowed to teach and lead retreats. She lived at Chithurst until 1999 when she moved to Amaravati Buddhist Monastery, where she continues to teach.
As of 2015, she is one of the most senior monastics in the Amaravati Sangha.

    Sometimes I feel like I’m listening to Mr. Spock talking to Captain Kirk. There must be a hybrid Vulcan species experiencing the full impact in the heart of the wonder of life and the events that make up that life but remaining or being able to experience it to feel it to learn from it to let it be? I’m not going to sync my way out of this one. Practice practice practice

    If you see yourself in great loss is the antidote to contemplate great hate and dispassion? It hurts even to think of denying the emotion of love. Perhaps the answer is to truly know loss.

    At the 22:30 minute mark it becomes painfully obvious how ridiculous some of what the Buddha said is. Stream entry is a good place to be. Is it worth being stabbed 10 million times over the course of 100 years? Come on, this is definitely the dumbest thing I've ever heard Buddha say. This is why meditators should reject Buddhism outright. One can do meditation very similar to what Buddhism suggests without subscribing to the rest of this nonsense.

    This is what will occurs when you becomes a sotapanna. You will experience ceesations of 5 Aggregates.when 5 aggregates ceased you will becomes a Sotapanna. How you know? When after you RE AWAKEN experience ceesations of aggregates you will be overwhelmed sukha in jhanna adsobtions.This you cannot miss to know. Aftera while the adsobtions will past and you remember ceesation of vinanna.. In this way you know you have reach the stage of noble being. This is rare to happen so many will not know this ceesations of vinanna. It is above the knowledge of all jhanna.Ceesation of conciousness is the journey that require balance concentration. So now you know when you becomes a SOTAPANNA

    What is path n what is not path is What is nibanna as to see ceesations and that is the path to be established.And what is non path is the doubtful in there is uncertainty in such ceesations. So you see the path is or is not then you should now know. Seek it from theone who has experience the path.Now you must seek out these beings then go learn from that beings. 4 noble truth is the way to happiness, calms and ceesation of mind. To accomplished this you will need one who has attain. Why? I will want you to think hard for the answer as to why.Seek the answers yourself or how can it be possible your struggles to nibanna can be accomplished.You can know what i mean,then you are wise and will know what you have to do next. Upeka is a state of mind with conciousness intact so it is not ceesations, adsobtions,samadhi or attainment. Infact many misunderstood upeka in its real sense. The real truth about the secular in language about upeka is balance concentration, effort,mindfulness. Another more clear meaning of upeka is obedient. What is obedient?It is when one meditation mind now has the ability to focus easily on the rising and falling motion of the abdomen. The word sama is like our bahasa Melayu meaning the same. It mean is evenness of mind also mean the mind is now obedient to follow instructions. What instruction? To follow the breath on the abdomen as it rise the mind is fully aware and as it fall the mind is fully aware. This is what actual (sankharupekkha-nana)is all about. Buddhang saranam gacchami

    Ajhan Amaro are referring to sutta books and has not personnely experience attainment for sure. Scriptures are not to be taken as true too. As kalama sutta already tell everyone. So finally attainment must be directly personally experienced. Though we are worry about fake claim for self gain.For all of us,why worry if this fake claims bongus one are going to carry his or her very bad karma.. So this pure land is Mahayanist theory anyway. Another great imagination of the ignorance. Is best not to try to talk about Attainment untill you really know what it is As for what i have explained and experience,it is open for your acceptance or rejection. For my advice,is better you keep practicing your satipatthana vipasanna until you too experience it yourselfs then you will know. Now for the moment,be mindful and continue your practiced. Suki hotu. Buddhang saranam gacchami

  • @vijjanandadhamma
    @vijjanandadhamma 3 місяці тому

    To make it short.Attainment is ceesations of conciousness. This is by one who experience it. The moment occurs not out of ignorance one enter the moment of ceesations of conciousness(not black out)With body erect in that sitting posture one enter and emerge from it as then continue on after the attainment into jhanna adsobtions where a single conciousness dwell in rupture. A single concious is not accompany by thoughts and thinking and no concepts are in that moment. Upon that adsobtions as it subside,one emerge from that absorption and enter the next mind conciousness of upeka where during this mind states (samadhi mind)the meditator will have pleasant abiding accompany by piti and has ease in his contemplating on the meditation object as to his breath which we as satipatthana vipasanna practioners has been practicing by observing the rising and falling motions of our breath.Which is our Meditation object.with ease and without effort this rising and falling are easily in motions and clearly aware. Then this occurs "recollection of ceesations of conciousness are automatically occurs. Piti and sukha arouses in one mind and body.One automatically know one has experience the 4 noble truth as to what ceased(now he understand what ceased) as according to the practice of Effort, mindfuless concentration the 8 noble path leading to the 4 noble truth. This is a short explaination of attainment as it can get. If can understand then you must have a experience it and not then you will need to start thinking using your 5 aggregates. Suki hotu. Buddhang saranam gacchami

    Disgraceful that the western men who run these English monasteries work so diligently to oppress women. Can't they see that enlightenment will elude them until they stop denying women what the Buddha himself granted them?
